PADDLE  ADVENTURE
Play Video

We’re going to Paddle eight kilometres down river through the heart of Dublin, taking in some of the city’s most famous sights along the way.

All our paddles will be taking place in the early evening while the river is more serene. It’s a beautiful experience – winding our way from the countryside-esque Islandbridge, through the city and under all the bridges as the sun goes down over Dublin.

It’s going to be class

THE DETAILS

  • We’ll be meeting on the banks of the river Liffey near Chapelizod where there’ll be a Stand Up Paddleboard, wetsuit and buoyancy aid waiting for every adventurer.
  • IMPORTANT: This is a one-way trip starting near Chapelizod and finishing in Ringsend so we strongly advise not to drive your car to the start point. The best thing to do is to take public transport or a taxi to the meeting point in Chapelizod. If you’re planning on driving a car it would be best to drop it at the finishing point (Link to map here: https://goo.gl/maps/kRnyknsomGs ) and find your way up the Liffey from there
  • We’re going to leave our clothes and other belongings in the van at the starting point so the van can bring them back down to Ringsend for us to change when we’re finished.
  • The ride down the Liffey should take an hour and a half, we don’t have any changing facilities there so be prepared to change out in the world or in the back of one of our vans.
  • We unfortunately don’t have any toilet facilities there so this is something to consider before you join us.

LOCATION

The meeting point is a public park located between the Garda Rowing Club and Chapelizod Village just off the Chapelizod Road.

There are several ways of getting here:

  • It’s a 30 minute walk from Heuston station if you got the Luas
  • There is a bus stop right beside the meeting point (Stop #  2194) which you can reach by taking the 25, 26, 66, 66a, 66b, or 67 buses.
  • A taxi from College Green in the city centre should take 15 minutes and cost between 8euro – 11euro depending on traffic

We’ll finish just beside the 3 Arena in the Eastwall/Ringsend area which is only a 30 minute walk to the city centre and is right beside loads of different Dart, Bus and Luas services.

TESTIMONIALS

I went on the Moonlight Paddle with Kris and the BigStyle crew during the summer, and had an amazing time with them. I'd never been paddling before and quickly gained confidence on the board thanks to the team. The journey down the Liffey was beautiful, it was great to see Dublin from a different perspective. When we arrived at our destination, there was a yummy bbq waiting for us, they even had vegetarian options for us veggies. Can't wait for my next BigStyle adventure!

Their moonlight SUP excursions down the Liffey are excellent. Well recommended.
