Discover Dublin from the water. The perfect introduction to flat water Stand Up Paddleboarding inside the safety of the harbour.

The Experience

Our guided session is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to build confidence on a paddleboard. You’ll learn the fundamentals of SUP, including paddling technique, balance, harbour awareness, and key safety information — all in a calm, sheltered environment.

We begin at the BigStyle SUP School where you’ll get suited up and matched with the right equipment. After a short land-based briefing covering safety, weather conditions, equipment, and harbour layout, we launch from the slipway and head out onto the water.

Once afloat, we’ll spend time getting comfortable, refining technique, and gradually exploring more of the harbour as confidence grows. Everyone learns at their own pace — there’s no pressure to try anything you’re not comfortable with, but plenty of encouragement if you’d like to challenge yourself.

The session lasts 1.5 hours on the water, but allow around 2 hours in total including changing time and briefing.

Where We Are

Dun Laoghaire Harbour, just 10km from Dublin city centre, spans 200 acres of historic, sheltered water — making it the perfect place to learn Stand Up Paddle. Protected from most wind directions and offering plenty of space, it’s ideal for beginners. We’re based at the slipway in Coal Harbour, the oldest and most sheltered part of the port, and the perfect spot for your first SUP session.
