Why the Lodge?

Over the past five years we’ve built the BigStyle Lodge up bit by bit to become our ideal of what a resort should look like. Take the perfect surf and yoga resort in the tropics, move it to the wild wesht of Ireland and make a few key changes… and you’ll have a bit of an idea of what we’re all about. 

 We have: 

  • 13 beautifully designed ensuite bedrooms sleeping up to 36 people 
  • A huge indoor events space with a kitchen, chilling areas, turf burning stove and loads of other bits 
  • An outside courtyard with a fully equipped stage for gigs, a fire pit, wood fired pizza oven, a rooftop sunset viewing deck and plenty of chilling space 
  • A surf school and SUP school with enough boards and cold water wetsuits to cater for 32 people at a time 
  • A sauna and hot tub called ‘The Big Dipper’ overlooking one of the best views in the country 
  • A yoga studio with an unbelievable view over the Atlantic 
  • An onsite Traditional Irish pub called P Dan’s
  • And not to mention we have a PHD in throwing an unreal event

Hiring the Lodge as an event space/collaborating with us

Plenty of businesses have run their own events in the lodge, for these we slide into the background – providing all the accommodation and services while you run the event. “As a group we had a great time all weekend.

The facilities provided really added to our time there. The opportunity to bathe in a wood-fired hot tub and chill by the observation deck and bonfire area at your hostel base was the perfect way to flake out after a couple of hours surfing the local waves! These nice-to-have features were things that not many of our group had fully anticipated beforehand and I would go back for in a heartbeat just to avail of these.

Location wise being in the middle of the countryside and away from the hustle & bustle of any town or city greatly added to the experience we had as a group. The local pub P.Dan’s also provided excellent service both during the day and at night.

As hosts, you were very accommodating and friendly and you dealt with everything very competently and without any fuss particularly with some last minute requests that we had enquired about.

So grateful to have just participated in a retreat weekend at Big Style and wow, we were so well taken care of! The location is stunning, the food was amazing, both delicious and so filling (clearly made with extra care!) and the activities were fantastic. It was so nice to be so well looked after for an entire weekend, cannot recommend it enough! If a full weekend isn't in the cards for you, the Big Dipper (Sauna, plunge pool and hot tub with spectacular views) is well worth a visit!

Hidden gem in Killadoon. Lovely small hotel, good breakfast, they have yoga and surf lessons, you can also use the hot tub and sauna that have spectacular views, recommend to book it in the sunset. Great place to relax and the staff is lovely. 10/10 experience.

There's something for everyone here. I bought the weekend escape as a gift for my sisters 30th and we brought our Dad down too (in his 60's) and he had a great time - even if he didn't manage to stand up on the surf board. Food is hearty and filling, exactly what you need after a day of activities. Every single one of the staff are so lovely and helpful, always around if you need something. Can't wait to come back.

Myself and two friends headed to the Big Style for the weekend of the August bank holiday. This is a complete hidden gem of Ireland. From beginning to end the whole experience is fantastic. The quality and taste to the food served all weekend is exceptional, with plenty of it also! The atmosphere in the lodge is gorgeous. The activities throughout the weekend are great between the daily surf, yoga and hike. This can be as much as a retreat as you like i.e. it can be a total switch off from reality or it can be a fun party vibe if that is what you are after. The value for money is brilliant and I dont think you will get a break like it anywhere else in Ireland. Would highly recommend

I had a wonderful time at the lodge as a solo traveler doing the weekend escape package! It was fantastic value for money. The rooms are basic enough but you spend barely any time there. Common areas both indoor and outdoor are gorgeous. The spa area outside is such a treat with amazing views. The food was absolutely incredible, staff were amazing! Highly recommend
